ABOUT OLIVIA
I'm a nurse practitioner and mom of three, passionate about providing pregnancy, postpartum, and infant education to give you support in motherhood.
How I Can HelpHi there, I'm Olivia...
and I'm so glad you've found your way here. I'm a mom of three, a psychiatric nurse practitioner who specializes in perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mental health, and a former newborn night nurse.
As a fellow mom who’s walked the path of pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and early parenting three times, I understand how overwhelming and exhilarating this journey can be. Coupled with my education and professional experience, I am well suited to provide the support you need to move through and enjoy this time. While supporting friends, family, and patients who have had children, what began as my personal interest soon turned into a mission to support other new parents through their experiences.
This space is designed to offer a comforting and informative haven for you. Whether you're seeking direct one on one guidance, in-depth self-paced learning and support, or handy resources, I'm here to support you. This chapter can be exciting, frightening, anxiety-provoking, exhausting, (and almost any other adjective you could suggest), and I have been there, too. My goal is to provide you with the knowledge and encouragement you need to embrace your journey into motherhood with joy and assurance.
I can't wait to get to know you, and would love to support you through this transformative time. Thank you for being here!

It All Started When...
I was in nursing school, working toward becoming a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, when I called my mom one day and told her I thought I'd made a mistake and that I should have done midwifery instead because I was so interested in pregnancy, birth, and babies. I ended up staying with my original plan, and in my second year of graduate school, started working as a newborn night nurse. I took care of newborns in their homes overnight while their parents slept and/or between feedings if they were breastfeeding, and provided education and support for the new parents. I have loved babies since I was a child (yes, I was that kid who was always trying to hold and play with any nearby baby), but it was not until I worked as a newborn night nurse that I realized 'wow- I REALLY love taking care of and teaching parents about these brand new babies.'
I started working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and focused solely on this clinical work and teaching for many years. A couple years into having my own practice, I realized that the patients I most enjoyed seeing were those who became pregnant and/or postpartum while I was treating them. While working with this population, I realized that much of what they were struggling with was answers and support around pregnancy-related topics, anxiety about birth and the unexpected aspects of postpartum, and baby care. Unfortunately, educating them about some of these topics does not fit neatly into my role as their psychiatric provider. At the same time, my sisters and friends were having babies, and I found myself feeling so happy when I was able to help them make a decision during pregnancy, talk through something they were struggling with, or simply suggest a type of bottle or sleep sack.
Now I'm Able to...
use my professional knowledge and experience, coupled with my personal experience of helping many new parents, and my own experience as a parent of three to provide widespread education and support to new parents all over the globe. Aside from being with my family, there is nothing that makes me happier than talking with an expecting parent about pregnancy or labor and delivery, talking through baby gear, helping parents-to-be complete postpartum planning, or educating around all things baby.
I have spent the time and energy gaining professional education and experience, researching guidelines and professional societies high and low, Googling anything you will ever think to Google, and learning through personal experience, so that you do not need to invest this same time and energy and can focus on your journey to parenthood. I am thrilled to be your support in motherhood.
